Don’t wait on the world or someone to change. Be the hero of your own story.
Back in the Fall, I had the great pleasure to sit amongst an audience listening to award-winning author, Elizabeth Gilbert. She spoke about one of her favorite quotes by Charles Dickens in the book, David Copperfield, “Whether I shall turn out to be the hero of my own life or whether that station will be held by anybody else, these pages must show.”
Whoah, I had to reread that quote several times to fully grasped its impact. Hit me like a ton of bricks. Who is going to drive this life of mine, if I don’t?
