If you have ever had too many avocados on hand that you just don’t know what to do with, try freezing them. Freeze them when they are completely ripe by placing in a large freezer bag. They will last for months in the freezer.
I often go to a big box store to buy my avocados and sometimes its tricky to get through the whole bag. I was actually shocked after experimenting with freezing them at how well it worked. They don’t turn unsightly brown, the texture softens just a bit but that’s what makes them perfect to use for guacamole or even just spreading out onto a sandwich. I wouldn’t say it works well to cut up into chunks for a salad but any type of spread or dip that will ultimately be pureed, this is an ideal method to try!
Give it a try and let me know how it works out for you.
Hmm, that’s one I haven’t tried! LOVE avocados…maybe I’ll start buying them in bulk now ;-). Cannot wait til the Sprouts opens down the street from us!!
I know I am counting the days until Sprouts opens Tina! I hope it will be up and running by next year!
Some in there… 😁
Just put done in there last week to see how it would work. Haven’t tried it yet, but will.
