Making Life Easier

spice drawer

Who doesn’t want to make their life easier?  We all have come across this issue at one time or another and when my friend saw my “Spice Drawer”, she said that I had to share.

We have all been there in the land of lost, trying to find and make our way through our gazillion bottles of dried spices hanging out in our cabinets, shoved behind other jars and cans with something toppling out of the cabinet just to get to the one in the back row.  At some point along the way, the chaos got to me and I decided to forego storing them on a shelf and decided to lay all the bottles out in a drawer.  If you want to take it one step further you can even alphabetize them so barely any thinking is involved when you go to find the spice you are looking for. (I have to thank my kiddos for that additional tip of efficiency!)

All my problems weren’t solved though ’cause a few of my spices are in extra large bottles ’cause I go through so much of them.  I decided to store the large bottles in my pantry and just transfer what I need into recycled smaller spice bottles just for the drawer.  I can refill on a moments notice (that’s if I can find the bottle shoved back in the pantry behind other things!).  Always something!  It really does make things a lot easier and a quick way to have everything all in one place while whipping up a meal so just wanted to share in case it helps you too in taming the beast!  = )
