When we listen to music, the thought rarely crosses our mind to stop a song mid-sentence to hear the lyrics. We listen even more intently and wait for the song to finish to understand the message and words of the song.
Why is that we will listen to a song but be the first to stop a person mid-sentence, interrupting and projecting our own thoughts before the person has even finished.
The next time you are in the midst of a conversation, try listening to the “whole song” first before ever uttering a whisper. You will be surprised what you learn.
Much Love,
Elayne
P.S. “Listen to them like they are music you love.” I repeat these words in my head as attention is divided among 3 teens. Oh the lessons we learn and summer is just getting started. = )
