DIY Everything Bagel Seasoning

everything bagel (1 of 2)

It’s so fun to have someone remind you of how much you like something.

Awhile back, my friend, Debbie Long, shared some deliciously flavored nuts with a few of us gals. The moment I tasted these “Everything Bagel” cashews, I was hooked and have been making them for every get-together, Christmas package, and person I can think of!

They have even become conversation starters where people are sharing how else they use the “everything bagel” seasoning – on popcorn, scrambled eggs, avocado toast, nuts, salad, roasted cauliflower or brussels sprouts, fish, chicken, you name it.  The list goes on and on; so thought, it was high time to share with all of you.

You can make it super easy on yourself and pick up some “Everything Bagel” seasoning at Costco or Trader Joe’s, or in good old fashion Elayne style, you can make it yourself and have an endless supply on hand at all times.

DIY Everything Bagel Seasoning

  • 1/2 cup Black Sesame Seeds
  • 1/2 cup White Sesame Seeds
  • 1/3 cup Poppy Seeds
  • 1/3 cup Dried Minced Garlic
  • 1/3 cup Dried Minced Onion
  • 1/4 cup Kosher Salt (do not use regular table salt)

Combine spices thoroughly until evenly incorporated and store in an airtight container or 16 oz. jar with lid.

Everything Bagel Cashews

Proceed with caution these cashews are dangerously delicious!

My favorite way to eat them this week is to add a tablespoon of them to a spinach salad with fresh orange slices, cherry tomatoes and roasted cauliflower.

  • 3 Tbsp. Everything Bagel Seasoning
  • 3 cups Raw Unsalted Cashews
  • 3 Tbsp. Olive Oil

Preheat oven to 325 and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.  Place ingredients in a gallon size bag in the order listed.  Seal bag and shake vigorously to coat.  Pour seasoned cashews into a single layer onto prepared baking sheet.

Bake in oven on middle rack for 5 minutes. Gently stir and then return to oven for 10 minutes more or until lightly brown.  Everyone’s oven is different so watch the nuts carefully as they may begin to brown sooner rather than later.

Remove baking sheet from oven and allow nuts to cool to room temperature and then place into an airtight container.

Gift Giving Time

If you decide to pass these along as a gift.  These 8 oz jars from Amazon are adorable to store them in.

Here are the labels I made for the jars:  label for cashews.  Just print on regular paper, cut out and afix to the top of the jar.

Hope you enjoy!

Much Love,

Elayne
