Fall is in the air and cooler weather is moving into Colorado.
It’s time to break out the apple cider.
On a complete and utter whim last night, just as the sun was setting, the boys helped me drag a small desk to the field behind the house and we set up a fall scene of cider, apples, plum tree branches, blankets and some store bought muffins.
People remember the feeling of something special, not the fanciness.
A great reminder:
To do something you love daily.
When you feed your own spirit, those around you feed off of it.
Setting scenes may not be your thing but everyone can enjoy a simmering cup of hot cider out in the crisp air with a blanket wrapped around them.
We broke out the copper mugs ’cause what good are they if you only use them for summer cocktails.
Heat a jug of apple cider over medium heat in a saucepan along with a handful of Cinnamon Sticks, Whole Cloves, Whole Star Anise and Apple Slices. Let simmer for 5-10 minutes. Pour into copper mugs and add some apple slices.
Enjoy out in the crisp autumn air.
Maybe this post will inspire you to break out the apple cider and traipse out into a field with your fam too…(or not, ha!) = )
Wishing everyone a very happy Fall!
