A Cardinal Cocktail

Who doesn’t love a fun, tasty cocktail this time of year.

Lord knows, we could all use some cheer so why not give this fun cocktail a try this holiday “basketball” season.

We experimented this past weekend and this just so happens to match our favorite college basketball team – Go Card!

  • Crushed Ice
  • 1/3 cup Pomegranate Juice, approx.
  • 1 oz. Bourbon Whiskey (optional)
  • Freshly Squeezed Lime (approx. a half of a lime per cup or to taste)
  • Fresh Mint Leaves, muddled (3-5 leaves per cup)
  • 1 cup, Ginger Beer (we like Reed’s Original)
  • Pomegranate Arils for topping
  • Slice of Lime for garnish
  • Splash of simple syrup (optional)

Fill an 8 oz. glass or copper mug with crushed ice. Add in Pomegranate Juice, Bourbon (optional), a squeeze of fresh lime, muddle Mint Leaves (rubbing mint between your fingers to release the oils – this will help permeate the mint flavor throughout the drink), fill remainder of glass with ginger beer and then give it a stir. Sprinkle with pomegranate arils and garnish with a slice of lime.

If it isn’t sweet enough for you, can always at in a splash of simple syrup which is simply sugar dissolved in water on the stove or in microwave.

Feel free to play around by adding more lime or more mint or an addt’l splash of bourbon.

If you have never cut a pomegranate before, here is quick tutorial to ease the messiness…watch ’til the end…always learning along the way: Watch here

Let The Games Begin

Created in honor of the upcoming NCAA Women’s Basketball season set to start back up tomorrow, Wednesday, November 25, 2020.

We weren’t sure they would even have a season this year so here’s to hoping and praying that everything goes off without a hitch for all these winter student-athletes.

Raising our glasses up to a great season ahead for the Stanford Women’s Basketball Team. Excited to bear witness (“virtual style”) to a history making season when Coach Tara VanDerveer becomes the all time winningest coach in women’s basketball history (she is currently 5 games away).

A special shout out to #11 😉.

If you want to watch any of the games along with us. Check out: https://gostanford.com/sports/womens-basketball/schedule

Much Love,
