You know how every cookie recipe under the sun says to cream butter and sugar together until “light and fluffy”. Well, haven’t you ever asked yourself what the heck meets the definition of fluffy. Well, I wanted to show you a picture of what “fluffy” actually looks like. It should appear creamy and smooth and lighter in color than when originally started. The process takes 2-4 minutes in your mixer, depending on the softness of the butter you are using. One last note folks, please, please, please whatever you do, please do not substitute margarine or any other fake substitute in your cookies. Use the real deal! You won’t regret it!
OMG cannot thank you enough!! Thought I was stupid for not knowing what “fluffy” should look like. Thanks 🙂
Thanks for posting – taking the mystery out of “light and fluffy”! Yes, does seem so simple but one of those crazy things that makes all the difference in how the cookie turns out.
I’ve actually tried this and it does help to know what “fluffy” looks like. Thanks! :o)
